Laser Diode Modules

Upon the development of Laser diodes many new applications were found during the last years. Laser diodes are relatively small and light weight components, they exist with various wavelengths and powers. They have even replaced conventional laser types in many cases.

A disadvantage sometimes can be the rather divergent beam or the necessity of more complex driver electronics. Therefore we offer our Laser diodes as complete modules, which means that the laser diode is built together with driver electronics and optics into a sturdily built housing. The module can easily be fixed to a mount or a machine element as well as the housing acts (at higher powers) as a heat sink. The optics forms the divergent beam of the laser diode into a parallel collimated beam. The beam shape can be circular or elliptical, for many applications also a line or cross image is required. For some models the focus distance is manually adjustable.

The integrated electronics guarantees a safe operation of the laser diode, furthermore, the output power of the laser diode can be regulated by the input voltage and can be frequency modulated by an external signal.

An advantage is the relative low operating voltage of about 5 V DC. Our laser diode modules have emission wavelengths between 635nm and 980nm with power levels between 1mW and 200mW. There are many different applications such as marking, positioning and adjustment of machines or wirk pieces, triangulation, survey, quality control, barcode, medicine, communication and optical measurement.
