The development of laser diodes has led to many new applications in recent years. Laser diodes are relatively small and lightweight components, available with different wavelengths and power outputs. Therefore, they have partly replaced conventional laser types. A disadvantage is usually the strongly divergent beam and the necessity of complex control electronics.
We therefore offer our laser diodes as complete modules, meaning that the laser diode is housed completely with driver electronics and optics in a robust housing. The module can thus be safely attached to brackets or machine parts, while the housing also serves as a heat sink (at higher power levels).
The optics shape the divergent beam of the laser diode into a parallel collimated beam. The beam shape can be circular or elliptical; for many applications, a line or cross shape is also required. With some models, the focus is adjustable depending on the distance.
The integrated electronics ensure the safe operation of the laser diode; in addition, the output power of the laser diode can be controlled by the input voltage and frequency-modulated by an external signal. The relatively low supply voltage of about 5 V DC is also advantageous.
Our laser diode modules emit at wavelengths from 635nm to 980nm and output powers from 1mW to 200mW. The areas of application are diverse: marking, positioning and adjustment of machine parts or workpieces, triangulation, measurement, quality control, bar code scanners, medicine, communications technology and optical measurement technology.
In addition to the standard products, we also offer laser diode modules for special applications. Modulation with high frequencies: Premier and Acculase series. Screwable mount: Cameo series. Line laser with uniform intensity distribution: Machine Vision series. Large beam diameter: Surve Laser series.
For applications in the green and blue wavelength range, our DPSS lasers, Greenlyte, Dragonfly, Firefly (532nm) and Bluelyte (473nm) series are suitable.
