SiC-UV-Avalanche-Photodiode

for linear and Geiger mode operation as well as single-photon detection

APD1.0TF-3 | Spectral range 200 nm – 350 nm (UV-A / UV-B / UV-C)

The APD1.0TF-3 is a broadband SiC UV avalanche photodiode optimized for operation in both linear mode and Geiger mode.
It covers all three UV spectral ranges—UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C—within a wavelength range of 200 nm to 350 nm, making it ideal for demanding UV detection applications.

Thanks to the wide bandgap of silicon carbide (SiC), the detector exhibits excellent visible blindness and is virtually insensitive to visible and infrared light.
In Geiger mode, the APD1.0TF-3 enables high internal gain and reliable single-photon counting even at extremely low light intensities.

SiC technology also ensures low dark current, high breakdown voltage stability, and excellent resistance to temperature and radiation, making the detector particularly suitable for use in harsh environments.
The detector chips are also available separately.

Typical applications
