Detector-filter combination series
|
Planar silicon photodiodes |
The detector-filter combination series includes a filter with a photodiode to achieve tailored spectral sensitivity. OEC offers a variety of standard and custom combinations. Upon request, all detector-filter combinations can be equipped with calibration data according to NIST, specified in terms of ampere/watt, ampere/lumen, ampere/lux, or ampere/footcandle. Among the many possible custom combinations, the following detector-filter combinations are available as standard components:
PIN-10DF – is a detector-filter combination in a BNC housing with an active area of 1cm², optimized to provide flat sensitivity from 450 to 950 nm. This is the spectral sensitivity required for radiometric measurements. This type of detector has several advantages over the thermopile, such as sensitivity that is approximately 1000 times higher, as well as 10 times higher stability.
PIN-10AP – is a detector-filter combination in a BNC housing with an active area of 1cm², which replicates the sensitivity of the most commonly used optical aid, the human eye. The eye sees both brightness and color with a sensitivity that varies with wavelength. This sensitivity curve is commonly known as the CIE curve. The AP filters reproduce the CIE curve within a 4% area error.
PIN-555AP –has the same optical characteristics as PIN 10-AP, with an additional operational amplifier in the same housing. The housing and operational amplifier combination is identical to the UDT-555D detector-amplifier combination (Photops™).
PIN-005E-550F – uses a cost-effective wide bandpass filter with a peak transmission of 550 nm to imitate the CIE curve for photometric applications. The bandpass is similar to the CIE curve, but the actual slope of the spectral sensitivity curve is very different. This photodiode can also be used to block the near-IR portion of the spectral range, 700 nm and above.
PIN-005D-254F – is a UV-enhanced photodiode-filter combination with an active area of 6mm², using a narrow bandpass filter with peak transmission at 254nm.
