| Solderable chip series |
| Planar silicon photodiodes |
The solderable photodiode chip series provides a cost-effective solution for applications requiring photodetectors with a large active area, with or without “flying” leads to facilitate installation and/or for situations where the detector is considered “disposable.” These photodiodes have low capacitance, moderate dark current, wide dynamic ranges, and high open-circuit voltages. The detectors are available with two 3″ leads soldered to the front (anode) and back (cathode). Two types of photodiode chips are available: “Photoconductive” series (SXXCL) for low capacitance and fast response, and “Photovoltaic” series (SXXVL) for low-noise applications. All detectors are also available as chips without leads. When ordering, please remove the “L” suffix from the model number, e.g., S-100C. For high signal output, the detectors can be connected directly to a current meter or through a resistor for voltage measurements. Alternatively, the power can be measured directly with an oscilloscope or an amplifier. For further details, please refer to the “Photodiode Characteristics” section.
